Grants

The Vigo County Education Foundation (VCEF) supports the Vigo County School Corporation (VCSC) by providing funding which cannot be received from other sources.  These two entities are totally separate but closely aligned in priority.

Recent Education Foundation donor and staff survey results have determined  funding priorities for the VCEF.  These listed priorities will guide funding unless and until future surveys indicate changes are necessary.

  1. Literacy – Reading and Writing
  2. Math Skills Improvement
  3. Family Involvement
  4. Science
  5. Improved Attendance
  6. Classroom Technology

The VCEF and the VCSC share data and information on a variety of programs and activities.  Funding through the VCEF to VCSC comes in many forms and from many donors, corporate, community and governmental.

The VCEF supports mini- grants to teachers within the VCSC.  Grant applications require the signature of the building principal and thus are determined to be of value to the school.

The VCEF supports school-wide grants to principals within the VCSC.  Grant applications require the signature of the building principal and are thus determined to be of value to the school.

The VCEF supports transformational grants within the VCSC.  These may be multi-year commitments and must be requested and determined to be of value by VCSC Administration.

The VCEF supports district-wide programs/field trips within the VCSC.  These are often multi-year commitments and must be evaluated and determined to be of value each year by VCSC Administration.
